High-Level Roadmapping in ArchiMate (Part II)

The roadmap represented in the Part I answers the key questions – When, What, How and Who.

If add two layers – Motivation Layer and Locations Layer – to this roadmap, then the roadmap can answer the remaining key questions – Why and Where.

Motivation Layer can be formed on the basis of Motivation View (Figure 5), Outcome Realization View (Figure 6) and Strategy View (Figure 7).

In our example Motivation Layer includes the impelling factors and total assessment of the current situation, the main goal and strategy of the company. It plays a role of roadmap headline (Figure 8).

Locations Layer forms from locations elements that indicate locations of program outcomes (in our case).

The final view of roadmap answering six questions (When, What, How, Who, Why, Where) is shown on the Figure 8:
